landescapes
As the Design Editor of LandEscapes, WSU's undergraduate literary and arts journal, I was responsible for the layout and design of the journal from cover to cover for the 2014 and 2015 issues. I also assisted with the branding of the 2016 edition, and trained the Design Editor who took over the position after my graduation.
Frank Lloyd Wright's graphic art was my inspiration for the 2014 issue. I admired the way he could communicate organic forms in a geometric style, and that sort of appearance was exactly what the staff and I decided on for the look and feel of that journal. For the second issue I designed, I intended to keep the organic yet geometric feel that the last journal had, while creating a lighter, more airy version. Both journals were created using Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator extensively.
My design for the 2015 journal won "Best Graphic Design" from the department of Digital Technology & Culture's awards in April 2015.
